THE STORY BEHIND...

The story of the PHINMA University of Pangasinan started in 1925. Francisco Benitez, Dr. Apolinario de los Santos, Dr. Sylvestre Pascual and Dr. Blas F. Rayos, all esteemed Pangasinenses, built the Dagupan Institute, a school which offered primary, secondary, and vocational education. The Institute was renamed to Dagupan Junior College after the Second World War, expanded its course offerings and added a Graduate School. In 1950, the school was transformed and became Dagupan Colleges. The school continued to provide more courses to fulfill its commitment of delivering excellent education to the youth not just in Pangasinan, but Northern Luzon. Dagupan Colleges was granted university status through the University Charter of the Department of Education, and was given the name University of Pangasinan.



COURSES OFFERED:

PHINMA UPang offers more than 20 undergraduate courses and programs taught in innovative methods in order for graduates to excel in the competitive professional world, in Pangasinan and nationwide. It also provides relevant and innovative nowledge and skills in certain technologies being used by global businesses today. The university also offers internship opportunities in partner institutions in Metro Manila and Singapore.

BASIC EDUCATION

PHINMA UPang’s basic education unit offers the youth relevant basic skills and knowledge to prepare them for higher learning in tertiary education. The University's Basic Ed curriculum follows the K to 12 basic education program, including the following Senior High School strands student could choose from: Accountancy and Business Management (ABM), Humanities and Social Sciences (HUMSS), Science, Technology, Engineering and Math (STEM), General Academics (GA) and Home Economics (HE).

SCHOLARSHIPS

Most importantly, our education is affordable. We do not charge any hidden or unnecessary fees.

We support deserving students throughout their tertiary learning years by by offering scholarship programs. Our Handog Kaibigan Scholarship Program provides 50% discount on tuition & miscellaneous fees for our more financially-challenged students. Check our complete list of scholarships below:


1. PHINMA Scholarship (formerly Presidential Scholarship)

100% discount on tuition & miscellaneous fees for 4 or 5 years & P4,000 monthly allowance for Honors or Top 10 Grade 12 students who pass qualifying exam. Service of 2 hrs/day at assigned department. No grade below 2.0. Average must be 1.75 or above. Applicable during summer if required in the curriculum.

2. Student Assistance Scholarship

100% off the tuition (21 units only) & must be in good class standing. Service of 4 hours/day at the assigned department. Must have passing grades. Not applicable during summer.



Requirements: Should pass the examination and interview

3. Valedictorian & Salutatorian Scholarship

100% (Valedictorian) and 50% (Salutatorian) off the tuition for semester upon entry only.

Requirements:
Certificate from Principal
Birth Certificate
Enrollment Registration


4. Dean's List Scholarship

100% off the tuition fee for the top 10 of the Dean’s List and 50% off the tuition fee for the top 11-25 for the semester following the Dean’s List award. Must have an average of 88 or above and no grade lower than 85. Not applicable during summer.

Requirements: Grades (to be applied in the Registrar)


5. PHINMA UPang Direct Dependent Scholarship

100% (with duty) or 50% off the tuition fee. Must be in good class standing. No maintaining grade. Applicable during regular semester and summer.

Requirements:
Certification of Employment from UPang HR
Birth Certificate of the child
Enrollment Registration

6. Handog Kaibigan Scholarship

50% off the tuition and miscellaneous fee for 4 or 5 years. (Must pass exam given at the Marketing Dept.) Must be in good class standing. No maintaining grade. Applicable during summer if it’s required in the curriculum checklist.

7. Victory Liner, 5-Star, and Transasia Oil Employee & Direct Dependent Scholarship

25% off the tuition fee. Renewable as long as the parent is an employee of the above. Must be in good class standing. No maintaining grade. Not applicable during summer.

8. The Medical City Employee & Direct Dependent Scholarship

100%-25% off the tuition fees. Renewable as long as the parent is still connected in the TMC. Must be in good class standing. No maintaining grade. Applicable during regular semester and summer.

9. Kapamilya @ PHINMA UPang Scholarship

10% off the tuition for 2 siblings, plus 5% to each additional sibling enrolled in the University (basic education or college). No maintaining grades. Applicable during summer if required in the curriculum.

Requirements:
Birth Certificates of each sibling
Certificate of Matriculation


10. PHINMA UPang Alumni Scholarship

10% off the tuition fee for graduates of the University (including Basic Education) and their direct dependents. Must be in good class standing. No maintaining grade. Not applicable during summer.

Parent's Diploma / OTR / Alumni Privilege Card
Birth Certificate of the Child
